As our bodies start aging, one of the biggest things we notice is our skin. It doesn't look quite so young, soft and supple anymore. Sometimes it starts drying out, becoming blotchy and even wrinkling or sagging. This problem is more prevalent for women going through menopause, because one of the common symptoms of menopause is drier skin.
As we age, extended years of sun damage takes their toll. Our bodies change a bit too, as the facial skin, in particular, stops producing as much oil as it used to, and it doesn't produce as many antioxidants as it used to either. Both of these are contributing factors to your skin looking older.
Combined with many years of stress, squinting at computer screens all day, or frowning in concentration all day while you're working, wrinkles start developing in those areas of your face where creases form when you make faces. A lot of this can be reduced and sometimes completely reversed.
There are many natural skin care treatments available to help keep your skin looking more youthful and healthy, and herbs and vitamins can play major roles in keeping your skin looking beautiful naturally.
The most important thing you need to help keep your skin looking beautiful and young, is water. Drinking lots of water each day is required to keep your body healthy in general, but many people don't realize it plays a major role in keeping your skin healthy too.
Drinking eight to ten glasses of water each day will provide your body with the water it needs, while also having enough to rehydrate your skin as well. When your skin is hydrated, it's much softer, smoother and younger looking.
The second most important thing you can do for your skin to stay younger looking naturally, is be sure you're getting proper nutrition. Nutrition can be controlled by the foods you eat, of course, and there are many vitamins, herbs and supplements which help as well.

Natural Colon Cleansers
One of the best natural ways to maintain a healthy colon is by eating foods high in fiber. On the whole, people who eat diets rich in fiber are less likely to become constipated, and constipation may ultimately lead to even greater health risks. Eating foods high in fats, like eggs, cheese and meats can also cause chronic constipation.
Psyllium seedshave become popular recently because of the many fiber additives on the market today. Psyllium seeds contain a category of fiber called mucilage. Mucilage enters the digestive tract and absorbs water. When it does this, it swells, making the stools in the colon bulkier. This, in turn, triggers contractions of the colon walls. These contractions then lead to bowel movements.
You'll only need to take 1 or 2 teaspoons of ground psyllium seeds (mixed with eight ounces of water), 3 times per day. When you take this natural remedy, be sure to drink plenty of water throughout the day. If you don't, you run the risk of obstructing the colon and only making your constipation worse.
Consider an enema. There may come a time, especially if you've ignored your health for any length of time, that you may want to jump start your healing and put yourself on the fast track to health. The best way to "start anew" in a sense is through an enema.
An enema flushes much of the old, dry, fecal build up on the walls and pockets of the colon very quickly. This allows your system to eliminate the accumulation of toxins fast. If you think you may want to take this route to colon health – and improve your overall well being – visit your natural health care practitioner. If he can't help you, he'll direct you to a professional who can.
